You’re probably wondering who I am and why I felt the need to have a nursing related blog. I am a nurse of seven years. I have worked med/surg, level three ICU, and now I am a surgical/trauma/burn ICU nurse at a level one. I HAVE SEEN SOME SHIT.
I have seen everything from the repeat offender that is in the hospital for the fourth time this month, to the severe (we were convinced they were going to die) head injury that came back to visit and thank us for our care.
I just want to share what I have learned and experienced so far in my nursing life. I also want to give you a real world view of nursing, sometimes with a touch of humor… very dark humor. I will go ahead and warn you, I am blunt and foul mouthed. I doubt you are surprised…

Even though I don’t really understand the medical details, I think your blog is superb. I can hear your frustration and your incredulity at some of the things that go on. I can’t imagine some of the things you must see in any given day.
